Baby Names

Here’s a little distraction from election day excitement.

For a boy:

  • Hagrid Chewbacca (as a talisman against MPB)
  • Bran
  • Carl Agathon
  • Refrigerator
  • Dude
  • Booberry
  • George Foreman

Some names we’ve come up with for a girl:

  • Hermione Myfannwy
  • Starbuck
  • Athena
  • Blender
  • Leeloo Dallas Multipass
  • Booberry
  • George Foreman

As you might be able to tell, we’re fond of lite science fiction and fantasy, historical mythology, kitchen appliances, and the absurd.  What do you think?  Any suggestions for a really cool name that did not make our list?

I think “Leeloo Dallas Mulitpass” is inspired.

how about wolfgang puck ? In honor of dad wanting to name matt wolfgang, and your love of all things kitchen related….

Refrigerator or Blender would go well with Toaster. As far as legitimate names go, I actually like Bran (although I’m not sure if you meant it as in bran flakes) and Athena. I knew someone growing up named Athena, but I’m not sure if you can get past the Battlestar reference with it now.

I really like Athena and all the other Battlestar names. A little girl named Starbuck would be SO badass. Even more badass than Moxie Crimefighter. However, I can’t actually bring myself to name our child after a TV show character.

And I thought of Bran looong before my current obsession with Raisin Bran. Like back in high school. It’s an actual name that I quite like!

I could use a real distraction today, a baby being born would be the best distraction..If that isnt possible how about some real name possibilites for me to dream about…

Starbuck would be badass, but most people would think coffee chain. I would go with Caprica for a girl, and if she is born on Thursday the 6th, Caprica Six would rock! I was named after a character on Days of Our Lives for gods sake so I’m ok with that.

For a boy I like Wolfgang (Wolfie), Fletcher or Adama.

    Hmm… Bran…

How about Frosted Flake or Lucky Charm? CoCo Puff? Wheatabix?

    Mmm… now I’m hungry.

How about a good old fashioned name- like Genghis or Atilla? Atilla Hun could make a nice girls name with a very Baltimore flavor.
