We leave for Reno on Sunday morning, and we’ll arrive at Black Rock City by dawn on Monday.  Most our gear is organized, some of it’s even packed up.  There’s a little last minute costuming going on, but I’m at the point where I’m planning knitting projects for the trip.

This is not a post about strange facial hair, but chin straps for hats.  It’s windy and sunny out in the desert and the sun can be especially harsh at 3800 feet above sea level.  This means that one must wear sunscreen and a good hat:

Matt and I had dinner with his folks last night, and then he took me to Joann’s.  You see, Burning Man is coming up very soon, and I needed ribbons for hat chin straps.  Matt had to take me because I had a martini at dinner and all that gin was making me loopy.
